It is spring, and there is so much great energy, growth and excitement. It's a wonderful time of the year. I feel really energised from spending time with babies, toddlers, students or graduates. That's exactly what I've been doing in the heart of Swan. From sunset to sunrise, I saw sport in action, which started at Wilson Primary School, a new addition to the electorate. I went to their sports carnival, and they have done a very exciting thing, which is rename their faction carnivals, which they are in the process of doing. It's very exciting. Also, during a mental health week sundowner, I joined ND Netball, another named sporting group. I was inspired by Louise Wallace, who is a veteran and a warrior for youth wellbeing. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to pass this grant on to you guys so you can use new bright-pink bibs.
I also had the great opportunity to spend time at graduation ceremonies—Clontarf, Aquinas, Cannington Community College and Support Centre, St Clare's and Al Ameen College. Each of those schools was full of pride. To the students: this is an exciting new chapter. It will be a little bit scary, but I'm so excited about the opportunities that lie before you.
What was also really exciting is that I got to see my first round of the Swan Changemakers participants graduate from high school. These Swan Changemakers have had the opportunities to come up with ideas that have then been raised to ministers. It was so wonderful to see these students graduate and help shape a better Australia.
I also got to spend time at the Gosnells Toy Library, which unveiled a beautiful mural celebrating both play and community. Toy libraries play such an important role in our community and help facilitate early learning.
Also, just on Friday, I had the opportunity to do an amazing Welcoming the Babies function. We had probably 100 people in total—about 50 toddlers and babies—and there was such a buzz in the room. We also had some phenomenal people that helped provide some really important information. Thanks to Chris and Michelle from Ngala; Ellie from the Vic Park Toy Library; Wanslea's team, Amina; Izzy from the Brookman Child and Parent Centre; and also the wonderful Cassie Rowe.
Finally, to Saf, a university student in turn who came and entered in my office at the last sitting—so much promise and opportunity. She was looking at AI and the role it can play in the future for Australia—super exciting.
